Job Description

Model-based systems engineering is a growing field that helps to manage the complexity of modern engineering systems like our MEMS sensors. In this process, an important task is the development of a MEMS system model in Matlab/Simulink for system design, system evaluation, and validation. Until today this system model is created manually by engineers. With Artificial Intelligence (AI), this task should be automated as best as possible.

  • The topic of this PhD focuses on the automatic build-up of a MEMS system model with the help of AI technologies.
  • For this challenging task you will receive support from our AI experts and from our best system modeling engineers to gain in depth understanding in our MEMS sensors consisting of micromachined transducers and application specific integrated circuits.
  • We expect you to place your papers in high-ranking IEEE conferences and journals.
  • The employment as a scientific researcher at Bosch is offered for a duration of 3 years.

Qualifications

  • You have a master's degree with excellent grades in a suitable field such as Electrical Engineering, Microsystems Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Cybernetics with ML experience.
  • You are excited about MEMS sensors, Machine Learning (especially Reinforcement Learning), and further AI technologies.
  • Excellent coding skills (Python, Matlab, ML packages) and experience with Matlab/Simulink are important.
  • You have intrinsic curiosity and a willingness to learn continuously.
  • Your working style is highly structured and analytical, along with a thorough documentation of concepts and results.
  • You discuss, break down, and solve complex issues with a high degree of ownership.
  • Good English communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
